OGG to MP3

Pick an .ogg file and this page turns it into an MP3 without sending it anywhere. OGG to MP3 conversion happens inside your browser, so it works the same for a game sound effect, a podcast episode or a voice message.

How it works

  1. 1.Add OGG files

Both .ogg and .oga files are accepted, up to 15 at a time. Drag them in or click the box.

  2. 2.Pick the MP3 bitrate

Leave it at 192 kbps or choose 128, 256 or 320 kbps. Individual rows can have their own bitrate.

  3. 3.Convert OGG to MP3

The decoder and the MP3 encoder both run on your device in a background worker, so the page stays responsive.

  4. 4.Save the results

Download each MP3 on its own or the whole batch as one ZIP archive.

Output options

  • Bitrate from 128 to 320 kbps; 192 kbps is the starting point.
  • Start and stop times, to keep only part of a long recording.
  • Loudness matching, useful when the files come from different sources.
  • Artist, album and year tags written into every MP3, with the title taken from the file name.

What's inside an OGG file

Ogg is an open container format from the Xiph.Org Foundation. An .ogg file most often carries Vorbis audio, but it can also hold Opus; the converter reads both.

Because Vorbis is royalty-free, it turns up in video games and open-source software, and Wikimedia Commons has long stored its audio as .ogg.

Telegram saves voice messages as .ogg files with Opus inside — they convert here like any other OGG.

Plenty of hardware players, car stereos and editing apps won't open an Ogg file at all, which is the usual reason to want an MP3. Both formats are lossy, so keep the original if you might need it again.

Privacy and limits

Nothing is uploaded: the OGG file is decoded and the MP3 is encoded by a WebAssembly engine on your machine. Once the page and the engine have loaded, conversion keeps working even if you go offline.

On a computer you can add up to 15 OGG files at once, 200 MB each and 500 MB in total. Phones get 50 MB per file and 120 MB per batch, because a mobile tab has far less memory to work with.
